L.A.’s Surprising Urban Biodiversity

For some-more than a century, a Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has exhibited outlandish specimens from around a world. But recently that tellurian concentration has shifted, as biologists commend that LA itself is among a planet’s many different ecosystems. A new Urban Nature Research Center is enlisting citizen scientists to catalog class that they find in their backyards, from spiders to squirrels. Their idea is to improved know how biodiversity is influenced by urbanization and globalization. Documenting a city’s civic wildlife is divulgence patterns in emigration and instrumentation that might surprise identical studies in other cities.
