Family warns of "dry drowning" after 4-year-old dies

A family scheming to bury their 4-year-old son wants to advise other relatives of a singular condition that took a child’s life.

Francisco Delgado Jr. says roughly a week after a family outing to a Texas City Dike, he called 911 since his son Frankie stopped breathing, CBS associate KHOU-TV reports. The child had shown symptoms that resembled a stomach bug for several days, including queasiness and diarrhea.

Doctors found liquid in Frankie’s lungs and around his heart, and told a Delgado family Frankie died of what’s famous as “dry drowning.”

Unlike some-more typical drowning deaths that happened in pools, lakes and during a beach, dry drowning can start hours, even days, after a chairman inhales water. The odd condition mostly involves immature children.

According to medical experts, symptoms of dry drowning embody difficulty breathing, determined coughing, sleepiness and fatigue, and vomiting.

Frankie’s mom Tara pronounced her son was “full of life” and “for 4 years old, he had a large heart.”
